Daily Message:
When I think of the word “delight,” I think of a child whose eyes light up at the sight of a favorite toy. I think of a groom whose heart leaps at a glimpse of his bride. Delight is a powerful emotion, and we can all think of a person, circumstance, or object that prompts delight in us.

This verse encourages us to make God the focus of our delight so that he can grant our desires. It is tempting to think of this offer as a powerful “genie in a bottle” formula: enjoy God just so he will give you what you want. 

But there’s more to it than that; something remarkable happens when we delight in God. Our desires—our wants and passions—actually begin to change. As we spend more and more time with God, our desires begin to align more with his desires. We arrive at a sweet spot of asking God to give us what he knows is best—and so he does!
