Alone, exhausted, and thinking about suicide more each day, a Turkish-speaking man scrolled past a Gospel ad and typed an honest message into the dark—in his own language, to someone ready to listen.
Emre believed in God.
He'd tell you so plainly. God was "exalted, all-embracing, loving and benevolent." He believed God's greatness should show up not just in books, but in the way people actually live.
But belief wasn't the problem.
The problem was that Emre was alone. He looked at the world and saw war. Poverty. Bigotry. People choosing evil over and over again. And somewhere along the way, he'd slipped into an isolation so complete it had started to swallow him.
Then, to a stranger on the other side of a screen, he admitted what he couldn't say to anyone else:
"I think about ending my life by suicide more every day."
A Door He Didn't Expect
Emre wasn't looking for religion when he came across an ExploreGod ad while scrolling. He was looking for something to hold onto.
So he reached out. And someone was waiting on the other side. A real person, ready to sit with his questions and his frustration, and to speak with him in his own language.
Emre didn't hide his pain. But in the same message he sent sharing his darkest thoughts, he said something else. Something that revealed a flicker of hope still burning underneath it all:
"I would like to continue with you into a new life."
He wasn't settling for an anonymous online exchange. He wanted more. He wanted to sit across from someone, person-to-person.
"When We Are Sitting Face to Face"
The Online Missionary (OM) asked if Emre had questions about Christianity.
He did. But not over a screen.
"I do have questions," he wrote, "but I should ask them when we are sitting face to face."
Here's where the digital bridge became a real-world one. The Online Missionary asked where Emre lived — his city, his district — so he wouldn't have to carry this alone anymore. Then the OM connected him with a local church right near him. A place he could walk into. People who could sit with him. Questions that could finally be answered in person.
A man who was drowning in isolation now had a name, a place to go, and an open door.

He's Not the Only One
In Turkish-speaking regions around the world, people are finding that same safe harbor in the middle of their own unique storms.
Take Kerem. He wasn't wrestling with isolation — he was wrestling with unemployment. After going months without a job, the weight of it all had crept into his faith.
"I had been close to God," he admitted, "but these days I have grown distant because I have been unemployed for 3-4 months. This hurts me."
His Online Missionary didn't offer him a quick fix or a hollow promise that following Jesus makes the hard things disappear. Instead, the OM told him the truth: Jesus doesn't promise a life without storms. He promises to be with us in them — and to never walk away.
Then came the question that mattered most: Did Kerem want to know Jesus and experience His peace, even in the hard season?
"Of course I do," Kerem replied.
His Online Missionary invited him to take a real first step — to open the Bible, to start reading, and to bring every question with him. Kerem was given an online Bible and a path to receive his own physical copy and other resources.
Two men. Two very different burdens. Both met by a real person, message after message.
A Movement Crossing Every Border
Emre and Kerem aren't rare cases. Every day, people all over the world are scrolling with quiet pain they've never said out loud. One by one, in language after language, they're finding someone who answers — even in Turkish-speaking regions where following Jesus can be dangerous.
Right now, somewhere in the world, a searching heart encounters the Gospel through ExploreGod nearly six times every second. But reaching people isn't the finish line. The goal is deeper: 5 million discipleship journeys by 2033 — not just first steps counted, but lasting growth, one relationship at a time.
That's what your partnership fuels. By supporting the ministry, you place a real, empathetic Online Missionary beside a man like Emre at the exact moment he's staring into the dark. You open a door for a man like Kerem to pick up a Bible for the first time in months.
