Golden Nugget: Things change when you become a Christian. It may seem strange, but it’s normal—and it’s okay.

Daily Message:

Life changes when you decide to become a follower of Jesus. The first change is truly supernatural: a movement from death to life! No matter what you may feel, the moment you placed your faith in Christ your future became secure. You belong to God forever. 

As a “newborn” Christ-follower, everything will seem new and possibly strange to you. Other Christians may seem so comfortable with their faith, but the things they talk about can be confusing to you at times. Let me assure you they were not always that way. There was a time when all of this was new to them, too.

Just as a child grows and matures physically, so will you grow spiritually. Your values and desires will change. You will become more and more like Christ as his spirit guides you. And you will become more at ease in your newfound faith.

But your spiritual path will always include times of growth and discomfort. God will continue actively doing things in your life now that you belong to him.

Consider This:

• What is something that has already changed in your life since you decided to become a follower of Jesus?
• What are you the most uncomfortable with about your new spiritual journey?

Take Action:

Celebrate your new life by dreaming about your future following Jesus. Write how you hope and pray your life will look like one year from today. Ask God to help your dream become a reality.
